Long Resistance Bands & Other Travel Essentials for Summer Vacations! 

Summer officially begins on June 21st, the day of the summer solstice when one of Earth’s poles has a maximum tilt towards the sun. This means more sunshine and for longer! One of the best parts of summer is celebrating this sunshine with a vacation. Vacations have so many advantages like exploring a new place, trying something new, and visiting a new place. 

But, it can also be frustrating and overwhelming when you’re out of your routine and have to fight time differences and a full schedule. It’s why maintaining a regular fitness schedule can help give you a sense of structure when on vacation. Whether it’s watching a video on Youtube or going for a jog around the area, getting moving can help you recenter and re-energize. If you’re gearing up for summer and have trips planned, keep travel-friendly gym equipment handy like long resistance bands and more!

Summer Vacation Essential #1: Workout clothes

Your vacation workout is only as successful as the clothes you’re wearing. You can’t go for a run in jeans or work out your arms in a tight shirt. That’s why it’s important to pack the right clothes for your summer vacation. Clothing items that are loose and have quick-drying capabilities are great for hot summer workouts, especially if you’re outside! Plus, we know biker shorts have been the trend lately. You can easily bring biker shorts as your workout attire, but when you pair them with a cute crop top or even an oversized shirt, you have a cute and comfy outfit!

Summer Vacation Essential #2: Long Resistance Band 

Keep your luggage light by adding a long resistance band to your summer vacation essentials! Long resistance bands are a great substitute for dumbbells or barbells (definitely don't want to pack those!). With my long resistance band, you can use it for workouts like:

  • Pull-up
  • Squats
  • Deadlifts
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder raises
  • Stretching
  • CrossFit

Summer Vacation Essential #3: Gym Mat

Summer Vacation Essential #4: Water Bottle

No matter the season, hydration is crucial for your body to perform at its best! Plus, traveling can be dehydrating, so it’s important to replenish. When you have a water bottle on hand, it’s easier to rehydrate than buying a single-use plastic water bottle every time or not drinking water at all because you don’t have a bottle. But, be careful when traveling. Research beforehand if tap water can be consumed in your vacation spot. 

Summer Vacation Essential #5: Glute Bands 

I know we already mentioned resistance bands, but those were long resistance bands and these are glute bands. They’re different, I swear! Long resistance bands are great for multi-use workouts, and glute bands are great for, well, glute exercises! Glute bands are also small and easily portable, making it another great summer vacation essential. With a glute band, you can level up on common exercises like squats, hip thrusts, glute abduction exercises, lunges, kickbacks, and more!
